The Relational Competence Model

Unlike traditional “training” programs, we don’t simply identify character traits. Instead, we help individuals identify their preferred area of relational competence and then help them develop the other areas. By integrating five root values with the relational competence model, they can clearly see where they experience conflict with team members who have different relational priorities.

By assessing each client's team, we determine the primary ways in which team members manage risk and focus on tasks and people. We link these values to individual behaviors and identify specific new habits that each team member can master. Through tools and coaching, team members learn new habits and become more responsive in their relationships, which encourages trust and decreases friction. Formerly nonproductive relationships become an opportunity for growth and learning for every member of the team.
